Some seasons of life don’t come with clear answers.
Maybe you’re waiting on news or facing a tough decision. Maybe everything feels uncertain and your mind won’t stop trying to solve tomorrow before today is even over.
This meditation is an invitation to loosen your grip on needing to know. You don’t have to have all the answers tonight. You don’t have to make every decision today. For just a few minutes, allow yourself to rest in the space between what has been and what comes next, trusting that clarity can arrive in its own time.
When you don’t know what’s next, press play.

Hi, this is Adrian, and welcome to another episode of In Case of Emergency Press Play. Today's meditation is for times when the future feels uncertain, when there are questions without answers and decisions without clear directions. That pretty much describes my entire fucking life right now. You don't need to figure everything out today. You only need to take the next step. And when you don't know what's next, press play. Welcome to your practice. Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position. Allow the ground beneath you to support the weight of your body. There is nowhere else to be right now. There's nothing to fix. Nothing to figure out. Just this moment. Just this breath. Slowly breathe in through your nose. And gently exhale through your mouth. Again. Breathe in through your nose. And gently exhale through your mouth. Allow your breath to settle into a smooth, natural rhythm. As your body softens, allow your attention to arrive fully here in this moment. Breathe in through your nose. And slowly exhale all your air out. If life feels uncertain right now, you're not alone. You might be waiting for answers or for people to make decisions. Maybe you're standing at the edge of something new. And maybe you have no idea what comes next. Take another breath in. And a long, slow, mindful breath out. Notice the urge you have to figure everything out, to solve the future, to create a perfect plan. Gently loosen your grip on that. Put it down. Just for a moment. You don't need to see the entire path. You only need to see the next step. One step. That's all. Life is rarely lived five years from now. It's lived one decision at a time. One conversation at a time. One day at a time. Breathe in through your nose. Long breath out through your mouth. Feel your body supported by the ground. Notice where you are right here today in this moment. Not tomorrow. Not next month. Today. What is the next small thing that needs your attention? Not the big things. Not everything. Just the next thing. Trust that the path appears as you walk it. Trust in yourself that clarity often comes after movement, not before it. One breath, one step. Take a long, slow inhale and exhale completely. From my heart to yours. Wherever you are right now, take a breath. Loosen your grip a little. Be bold. Listen and be impeccable with your words. Do meaningful work and leave things better than you found them. We didn't plan for this, but we're here. And for right now, that's enough.
