17. In Case of Emergency, Press Play: Breathe Through Color
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Color has the power to influence the way we feel—and when paired with intentional breathing, it can become a powerful tool for calming the mind and reconnecting with yourself.
In this guided meditation, you’ll journey through the colors of the rainbow, using each breath to explore the qualities traditionally associated. From the grounding energy of red to the peaceful connection of violet, you’ll be invited to release tension, restore balance, and cultivate a greater sense of calm.
Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply need a few moments to reset, this practice offers a gentle space to slow down, breathe deeply, and return to yourself.
When you need to breathe a little easier, press play.

Hi, this is Adrian. Welcome to another episode of In Case of Emergency Press Play. Our breath has an incredible ability to shift how we feel. Not because it changes what's happening around us, but because it changes what's happening within us. As you breathe today, you'll use the power of your imagination to release stress, invite calm, and reconnect with yourself through color and breath. So when you need to breathe a little easier, press play. Welcome to your practice. Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position. Allow the ground beneath you to support the weight of your body. There is nowhere else to be right now. Nothing to fix. Nothing to figure out. Just this breath. Just this moment. Slowly breathe in through your nose. And gently exhale through your mouth. Again. Breathe in through your nose. And a long exhale through your mouth. Allow your breath to settle into a smooth and natural rhythm. As your body softens, allow your attention to arrive fully here in this moment. You can close your eyes and begin to feel a deep sense of relaxation move throughout your body. Embrace the opportunity to escape from the here and the now. At this moment in time, there is nothing for you to feel concerned about. You are at peace. Allow any leftover tension of your day dissipate. And connect with your breath. Remember that this is your time. As you settle into your breath, imagine a gentle light beginning to glow at the base of your spine. With each inhale, picture this light getting a little brighter. With each exhale, allow your body to soften just a little more. We'll move through the colors of the rainbow, using each breath to invite balance, calm, and awareness. Begin with the color red. Imagine a warm red light at the base of your spine. This is your root, your foundation of stability, safety, and belonging. As you breathe in, allow yourself to feel supported. As you breathe out, release fear, worry, or anything that leaves you feeling ungrounded. Say these words softly to yourself. I am safe. I am supported. Now allow that red light, that red, glowing light, to slowly soften into a beautiful orange light just below your navel. Orange is the color of creativity, joy, and emotion. With each inhale, welcome playfulness, curiosity, and ease. With each exhale, release guilt, self-judgment, or anything that keeps you from expressing yourself fully. Say these words silently to yourself. I honor my feelings. I allow myself to experience joy. Now imagine a warm yellow light glowing around your upper abdomen. Like the sun, it radiates confidence, courage, and inner strength. Breathe in self-belief. Breathe out self-doubt. Allow this golden light to remind you that you are capable of more than you sometimes realize. Say these words to yourself. I trust myself. I have the strength to move forward. Bring your attention to the center of your chest. Picture a soft green light expanding with every breath. Green is the color of compassion, forgiveness, and love. As you inhale, imagine your heart gently opening. And as you exhale, release disappointment or anything that's emotionally heavy. Allow yourself to receive love just as easily as you offer it. Say these words silently to yourself. I give and receive love freely. Now notice a peaceful blue light surrounding your throat. This is your space of communication and truth. Breathe in honesty. Breathe out any fears of speaking your truth. Imagine your voice becoming calm, clear, authentically you. Say these words to yourself silently. My voice matters. I express myself with kindness and confidence. Now begin to shift your awareness to the space between your eyebrows. Visualize a deep indigo light glowing there. This is the center of your inner wisdom and intuition. As you inhale, invite in clarity. And as you exhale, release any confusions or overthinking. Trust that not every answer needs to arrive today. Some answers unfold one breath at a time. Say this to yourself silently. I trust my inner wisdom. Finally, imagine a gentle violet light resting at the crown of your head. With each inhale, picture this light growing brighter, connecting you to something greater than just yourself. Whether you call it peace, love, faith, nature, or simply this present moment, allow yourself to feel connected. As you exhale, release the need to control everything. Allow yourself to simply be. Say these words to yourself silently. I am connected. I am at peace. Now imagine all the colors blending together red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Together they create a beautiful stream of light flowing through your entire body. Feel yourself balanced, grounded, calm, open and whole. Take a slow deep breath in and gently exhale it out. Rest here for a quiet few moments. Notice how your body feels. The steadiness of your breath, the calm that you've created. Know that these colors and the qualities they represent are always available to you. Whenever you need grounding, courage, compassion, clarity or peace, you can return to this practice. Take one final breath in and an extra long exhale out. When you feel ready, gently invite movement back into your body. Slowly open your eyes and carry this sense of balance with you into the rest of your day. From my heart to yours, wherever you are, take a breath. Loosen your grip a little. Be bold, listen, and be impeccable with your words. Do meaningful work and leave things better than you found them. We didn't plan for this, but we're here. And for now, that's enough.
